Did you know that you actually can never forget a face? Every single face you’ve ever seen during your life gets stored into your memories, and gets used up later. For example, in dreams your brain can’t just make up a face. Every single face you’ve seen in your dream, you’ve seen somewhere once in your life.

And those strange nightmares you’ve had of those terrible demon like creatures ?

You’ve seen them around too, you just cant remember. You don’t want to remember.

"The Catacombs"
About a year ago, I was taking photos in the Paris Catacombs for my latest project for my photography portfolio. I was pretty far down, but it was okay since I had told some friends that I would be out by 7 p.m, and that if I wasn’t, they should send help. I also had a radio and a walkie that my buddy could speak to me on from the street above, and glowsticks that I had left down the passages i’d been down so that I could find my way back easily.
It was about 6:15 and I had gone far enough so that I had used up all my glowsticks, so I knew it was time to start heading back. I decided to take a few more pictures before ending my expedition. I had taken a few snaps around the dark corridor I was standing in before a couple things happened that made me -a non-religious skeptic- pray to whatever god could hear me to get me the fuck out of there.
Yet, I don’t know which scared me more.
The fact that the glow sticks were gone,
Or the fact that the face-detect on my camera had outlined something in the pitch darkness only a few feet in front of me.

Story inspired by the true story of the found footage of a man who went missing in the Paris Catacombs. You can watch the footage/documentary here.
The footage is truly terrifying, not only because the man (or his body) still hasn’t been found, but because no one knows what scared him to the point of dropping his seemingly only source of light and running possibly away from something.
Also, there’s a new horror movie coming out about the Catacombs called ‘As Above, So Below’. You can watch the trailer here!

you may heard of the split brain experiments, but let me tell you some really interesting things
the split brain is done so people have less epileptic seizures.
these seizures are caused by random neuron firings in a part of the brain
because of the corpus callosum (connects the left and right brain, commuicates information between the two parts) these random neuron firings start to spread all around the brain
this is no buena, there are so many neurons firing around the brain, people have horrible seizures
so to fix this, scientists cut up the corpus callosum. now these neurons firing can’t get around the brain, because theres to pathway for them to get to the other side. yay, seizures gone!
BUT WAIT! now the person has a split brain! what happens? do they become like mentally challenged zombies?
the answer is NO. much to everyone’s surprise, the split brain doesn’t really impair a person THAT much.
but it does have an effect
some spooky side-effects include a person’s hand having a “mind” of its own.
for example, a man’s left hand attempted to hit his wife, and he tried to stop it with his right hand. (he never wanted to abuse his wife in the first place)
a person was reading a book she really enjoyed, but the left hand decided to close the book
WHAT’S GOING ON?
well the right side of the brain (which controls the left hand) can recognize things but isn’t able to name it (speech controlled by left side of brain)
so when a person is reading a book she enjoys, the right side of the brain controlling the left hand, isn’t able to state that it enjoys the book. so it gets bored and closes it
and that’s the split brain effect. hope you learned something!

I first noticed it when my girlfriend came over to help me clean up my messy apartment. I’m bad at cleaning things up, so my apartment sometimes gets filled with garbage bags and junk that I just don’t know what to do with. It’s not like I’m a hoarder or anything, I mean I can watch TV and there’s room to walk and everything, but I do kind of a half-assed job of cleaning on my own. I’m a guy living on my own, and my apartment reflects that.

Because of that, my girlfriend will sometimes come over to help me clear everything out. That day was the same as any other time she came over. We started on opposite sides of the room. Whenever she came across any books or anything else that wasn’t obviously trash, I’d decide whether or not it was something I needed. If it wasn’t, we’d throw it out. The room was starting to look alright when my girlfriend pointed something out to me.
